The Cedar Rapids area’s demographic data indicates a strong regional economy. The Cedar Rapids area continues to grow providing quality jobs, housing opportunities and low unemployment rates.
- Civilian labor force in the Cedar Rapids area reached 148,000 in July 2009, up from 147,900 a year ago.
- Unemployment rate for the Cedar Rapids MSA was 6.0 percent in July 2009.
- Manufacturing employment decreased slightly to 21,600 in July 2009 from 22,600 in 2008.
